Private Network best practice

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am studying the private network currently from manual.

https://docs.solusvm.com/display/DOCS/KVM+Private+Internal+Network+Setup

That can be easy to setup when apply to single user.

In our case it will have multi users which they will owned their VMs. I would like to know:

  1. How to isolate different user's of their VMs in different private network?

  2. When user's VMs is located into different. How can VM communicate each using private network?

Thanks!

Hey,

Could you clarify the scenario in more details?

In general, you can try set up a several IP pools using IPs reserved for private networks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network), e.g. 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.255, 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.255 and so on.
And configure routing to make them communicate.

Mostly, SolusVM allows automating assigning IP address from private network IP addresses pool. For planning the entire network architecture it is better to consult with network engineer.
